A data de lançamento do novo disco do Dream Theater finalmente foi liberada: o próximo trabalho de estúdio da banda sairá no dia 24 de setembro, pela Roadrunner Records. Dream Theater será o 12º disco da banda e contará com 9 faixas, que foram gravadas no Cove City Studio, em Long Island, sob a produção do guitarrista da banda, John Petrucci e com a mixagem feita por Richard Chycki. O álbum também é o segundo desde a saída do baterista original Mike Portnoy (substituído por Mike Mangini).
